I also have an Abba stand. It is very sturdy and I have no reservations about using it on either of my bikes.

Hello

smilo006 I bought a steel pole and some metal joist plates which are drilled into the brick work. Then bought a lifting chain (see picture).

If you run good straps round the frame keep the bike on the rear paddock, you can lift the whole lot no problem, and you have great control of the pulley as it only moves very slowly.

I think the lot cost me fifty pounds.
