I have a carbon cover on mine, fitted over the top of the original rubber one.

Yeah, with hindsight, I would have rather done that! Too late now though...
Got most of it off, but its still there, refuses to budge, even after being soaked in Paraffin, my fingers ached after picking it off!
Even now, I can't get the carbon gaurd to fit as well as the original

It is a bit on the big side! - and the MY97-99 bikes have thicker ones than the later bikes.
If there is a CF replacement I'll be having one.

I fitted a casoli carbon tank pad a few months ago.
I removed most of the black stuff with a stanley blade and white spirit, then used a really good clear sealant ,taped down with electrical tape,then left over night to dry.
Done deal
