I've got an '04 800 and supposedly the 800 will still be available here in '06 (see photo) even though it's not listed anywhere. 6,100 miles on mine. Had a generator go bad and a TPS go bad. Both were easy fixes with shop time about two days for each. After the TPS went bad, that bike has never ran as good as it did when I got it back with the new one. Motor is super fun and can do all the maintenance myself. Down side...non-adjustable suspension (on the 800) makes it super stiff for the wife. When I ride the bike after getting off the 749, the SS runs out of motor very quick. Constantly hitting the rev limiter. Good low end grunt though. Over all, very happy with the bike. It looks beautiful going down the road to. We always get tons of attention over all my buddies jap bikes no matter where we go. Contacted Section 8 about some custom suspension work to match my wife and was quoted around $700 US. I didn't think that was bad for springs & custom valves in the forks and new spring for the rear...with a satisfaction guarantee.

I think we all deserve a ride over to Galaxy's place

TPS = Throttle Position Sensor (took me a while to work it out too !!!).

If I had seen this post earlier I might have done so being I was in Sacramento till the end of last week!

Hey Galaxy I enjoyed lunch on Wednesday at the Virgin Sturgeon, Im told its a bit of a locals favourite? Also frequented the Blue Gecko and Rubicons had a great time what a cool place to live! Roads and weather must give you biking nirvana...

What brings you to Sac?? The Sturgeon is OK but there's better... Weather here has just started to drop down into the low 10's early morning and back up in the high 20's by 1 or 2 o'clock. Rainy season's still a month or better off. There is some good riding in every direction though but living in the city requires at least a 30 mile drive to get to any of it. Down side to riding here is you have to pack for both weather conditions every day. If you dress for comfort in the morning, you are melting by lunch. If you dress for lunch, you freeze to death before you ever get there. I'm sure you guys really feel my pain hu??? You're country side is much more beautiful in my opinion...I've seen it. I get the opportunity to make it over every once in a while and always dream of being able to bring the bike with me. This weekend we have la Ducati Day...you guys heard of it?

BTW, that's not my bike in the photo, but these are...

Cool, I got an 800 also, only it's an 03 with all the fully adjustable stuff. Been reliable (8000 miles) and still looks good after a few British winters. Mind you, salted roads are no more as when I moved out to Las Vegas last year I brought it with me.
