Thought Scotland played with real grit and determination, probably deserved to be a few points closer than they were. If Murray hadn't have been sent off who knows, but it was a definite red carder. I think that the ref didn't really want to give it but had no choice

The referee has only recently come off of a ban himself.........i think he was playing the law to the letter....in fact he said as much at the time.

I dont think Murray is a dirty player, well no more than any other looks for the advantage, i think he intended to strike the player that was holding him back, just maybe not in the face/head!

Any way its Wales and Scotland.........who gives a toss...............

Fair point, especially about the LAWS of the game.

I don't think Murray is a dirty player either but the ref had to apply the laws .. I just think they need to be changed.

scotland the moral victors i think - thats from a kiwi with welsh background. pity a) he retaliated, the ref was obviuosly watching that passage of play and would have called them back for the original offence b) it got the other guy in the head- anywhere else and maybe a yellow card -it could have been the scots day...makes it interesting though.

Christ, when will you guys realise that:

1.You have too many men on the field
2. your points scoring system favours kicking
3. you aren't fit enough(see no.1)
4.your shirts are gay and too tight
5.It's not tap rugby, how about trying to take a tackle befor either kicking it or dropping it.
6.You don't need to take a 5 minute rest in every scrum
7. Rugby LEAGUE is the real rugby!!

Oh,and Bradford Bulls whupped the Aussies and are now World club champions-AGAIN.

Well you see, a bunch of blokes who used to play the REAL rugby couldn't handle the constant physical contest for the ball so they started a game where you weren't allowed to compete for the ball when a player was tackled.

Then they realised that scrums were hard work and actually quite technical so they cut that out altogether and simply hug each other instead and the halfback feeds the ball in behind the second rowers legs.

So essentially, rugby league is a game invented by former rugby players who weren't hard enough.

Along the way people got bored with it so they had trouble mustering up players - hence dropping the number of players from 15 to 13. Incidentally, one got a little confused at the start of the game (they're a bit simple you see) so they got the players numbers all back to front as well. The fullback wears number 1 for example!

Still, it keeps the peasants from revolting so it serves it's purpose.

TP is nearly right, just a bit confused. What really happened was that the Jessies that couldn't play League properly(mainly the "gentry"),kept getting tired and couldn't handle being actually tackled before releasing the ball decied that:

1.If we have more players,we don't have to run so much, because there are more people to cover the pitch

2.If everytime we get the ball,we just kick it back down the field,we get a breather.

3.Instead of actually getting somebody to "Tackle" us(heaven forbid they laid hands on you!) and potentially hurt you,we'll make it TAP rugby whereby you have to release the ball when you are in any danger of getting "Tackled"(you are allowed to lay down before realeasing the ball,so your mates don't have so far to run to pick it up!)

Now if we are REALLY tired,we'll kick it into touch, where we can all line up,get our breath back and when we are ready, throw the ball back into the field of play.

When we are REALLY,REALLY tired,we'll have a scrum.THis is when you all huddle togther until you've recovered(you have a 5 minute chat to agree this, whilst huddled) then release the ball into play, where you can just kick some more points and have another rest.(no point in actually tring to get a try,not enough points to justify the effort when you just kick some more!!).

To persuade people to play Union, they decided it was only fair that they get a litle gift(it wasn't a professional sport,so you couldn't get paid). This normally constituted a 5 bedroom house in Royal Berkshire,a sports car and a Management/directors job in some ficticious company. They were still all amateurs of course!!

The real men kept playing league, those that couldn't hack it,played union.
