Thanks Frank, no sprung floor though so I'm doing it on the grass in the back garden. If you're talking about reducing impact then no worries, it has to be better than all the running I would have been doing in it's place!

I'll be running on grass too when I can start running.

No worries TP, with skipping you tend to be on the balls of your feet (rather than heel striking, as you would when running) - so skipping places different stresses on toes, ankles and calf / shins and sadly even most gyms are solid floors unless they have a fitness studio.
