Thanks for the replies chaps! Finally got the ******g things off. The rear one was embarresing as when matey applied his breaker bar (no bigger than mine) the nut virtually fell off as if fingertight! Mate called me a puff! Damn thing must have been loosened with all my efforts, should have just tried it one more time. He took a good 15 minutes to get the front off though as he spent ages with the big air impact wrench to no avail. He ended up making a little shield out of some sheet steel to protect surrounding area and out come the welding bottles and a good bit of heat applied to the nut and a few second with the impact wrench had the nut off. Both nuts undamaged as well which was nice!
