Last Days of Summer With nothing more pressing to do this afternoon, I took the 749 out for a little spin up to Grafham Water. Beautiful day, melting tarmac, Corsas sticking very nicely thank you, not too much afternoon traffic, some favourite twisty roads, one heavily loaded ice cream cone and a little trip down to Jontis sailing school to see the guys and show off the new bike. Perfect! Tempted to stop at Chelveston at the pub that's under threat of closure but it looked deserted. Come to think of it, that was a good reason to stop. Instead, stopped off for a lone cider at a pub in 'the village that time forgot' (Water End) near Hemel before getting back just as the sun was setting. Perfect, in every respect. |
