when adjusting your chain, find your tight spot , then sit on the bike and adjust it, thats how we do chains at our workshop

Ducatikid the only prob I see with that method is that when the suspension unloads, you are going to have more slack than necessary

25mm of tension in total when sat on the bike, should touch swing arm easily... find chains tightest point first

you will do jon, but your measuring the chain tension on its tightest point with load on the bike, so your right in what you say, but that is how you adjust chains.

Thanks for the responses guys...
I'll sort the tension tomorrow, I'm at Brands on Tuesday and will let you know if it sorts te false neutrals issue...

Chains etc
I know this might sound stupid but why not look in the owners manual.

I see so many daft questions on this message board it scares me.

There is also lots of info, torque settings etc all available from the Ducati web site.

.....you're right that you can look in the manual, however, often the manuals are not fully accurate or correct.

One of the great benefits of this site is the information that can be gleaned from members here.

A lot of members are highly qualified mechanics and/or very capable in Ducati maintenance, these can often provide valueable insite into real-world Ducati setups, which may differ from the manual.

I take your point about the manual etc, but my request was also related to the connection between this and false neutrals.

I for one, will continue to put seemingly pointless messages on the board if I believe that I may not have all of the information to hand or knwo where to find it.

Rattler, well said ....

Have you had your protractor out to calculate the new "angle of dangle" for you Termis and worked out what the new aerodynamic co-erficient is and how it will help cornering ... all stuff we need to know ......

And was the laptop ok ..?? dont forget to check your flux capacitor as well ... wouldnt want you being in the wrong place at the wrong time ... again ... would we ..!!!
