Steve mate, I'm gutted for you.

Seeing as I'm just down the road let me know if there's anything I can do to help out. Not sure what was taken but we have 'some' spare linen and kitcheny type stuff, a mattress. Whatever else you can find. I've got a 4 year old boy and we have toys all over the place, I find myself digging them out of my feet on a regular basis - we were planning on doing a cleanout of these so I'm sure we can find something in there for the little fella too.

Also, not sure if your bike was taken or not or whether you need it to commute buit if you do you can borrow mine as I'm not riding it at the moment.

really sorry to hear that, hope you havnt been to affected by it and dont let some scumbag ruin your outlook on life even for a second.

maybe the police that are pulling people like me for trivial traffic offences could better use their time dealing with real crimes like yours. just a thought.

Gutted to hear of your break in!!!!

I hope you are luckly like me and find out through the grape vine who did it, just don't have any witnesses when you break his fingers one at a time like i did....it can get complicated!!!!! Not that i am in anyway suggesting violence is the way forward

I hope your wee man enjoys his day.

A quick thought to hopefully get the police out quicker. Phone them again and explain that your property is not secure and that your insurance company will not authorise repairs to make it secure until you have a crime reference number.

Ask them if they are going to be responsible should the scum return to finish off the job, seeing as it has been X amount of days since you reported it? Most forces are covered by Key performance indicators for response times, enquire about a complaints form to highlight their poor efforts on this occasion and they should sit up and take notice.

Sadly the chance of getting any forensics are fading as time goes on.....Insist on SOCO visiting to at least try and find something.

Sorry to hear about your burglary mate. Unfortunately I visit people every day that have been broken in to so I know how you feel. Not sure why the Met have dealt with your case like this, whether it's there policy or what. But most forces deal with burglaries as a matter of priority as these are the crimes that the government want police forces to reduce along with vehicle crime. They should have at least given you some advice over the phone to preserve any forensic evidence that may be there until the CSI/SOCO arrives.

I know in our force (Merseyside) we have to attend Burglary Dwellings within 24 hours max. Vehicle crime is usually quicker believe it or not! Anyway glad to hear that someone has had a good service from a CSI/SOCO.

If I were you I would ring them up and find out there policy on sending CSI/SOCO's out to Burgalry Dwellings. If they were supposed to send one and haven't then it may be worthwhile complaining. Unfortunately it wont get you your stuff back. Once again sorry to hear bout the break in!

Hello,

Police arrived Saturday at 7.30, and had a look around, told me I was lucky could of been worse . . quite possible kids looking for cash/cards.
Somebody would write to me giving me a report number. I listed all that
was taken wife's jewelry some cash/mobile/DVD's etc easy sell items.

I new nothing about CSI/SOCO's and what would be involved with a breakin, but thankyou for the advice and hope that this was indeed a one off.

Everybody enjoyed the birthday party, and now I feel a year older let alone my son.

Next time anyone gets burgled, tell them there's a bunch of bikers doing wheelies outside your house, or even better, somebodies fallen off. Every crash I ever needed attention, Plod was always first on the scene.
