Did the deed today..i found that i could transfer everything from the number plate light to the housing underneath the rear light, only had to drill one hole...looks much better...even the lense for the number plate light slots in.
It looks as though it was originally designed to be like this, i wonder why Ducati changed it ?

Casoli bracket. The upper section snapped so I made one out of brass and will post a pic soon

no plate relocator!!
Designed and made my own for my 748R, will hav to hav a look into them for 999s etc
