Phil

why not enjoying it, or gagging to start next year new and improved ??

I guess the extended break has got me thinking a little too much. Unsure if I will/can race next year.
Im going into to Donny with a far more relaxed attitude than before trying to find the essence of why i started the DD..FUN....

phil,

i think the fact of the matter is, if you are even slightly competitive( which i think you are) you will find yourself thinking less about the fun and more about beating the other competitors. i think most of us out there are looking to improve or beat the person we finished behind in the last race. if not then racing isnt really for you. (generally, not you personally).

for me, i dont find it "fun" but i find it more and more enjoyable each race. there is a distinction between the two for me.

i do agree to a certain extent but from a personal point of view i sometimes find myself getting whipped up into the points table frenzy..and all the ramifications of where who what when who do i have to beat !! what happens if !!! i have to reach this goal!!l i have to beat him or get closer to him this race etc etc...i guess i am a very competative person and im trying to get it under control so i can put less pressure on myself..im now sitting 4th in the championship and i feel alot of pressure to maintain that or make attempts to better it.......i never thought i would be here in the top 5 and i should be satisfied with it..but im not.....dammit....so i want to step back and evaluate why im doing it..........and i come up with fun the experience the getting faster the growing as a rider rather than where i place which is up to now what i have been concentrating on......At donny it is not a focal point where i finish

Does that make sense ... lol

Phil, you seem to be constantly re-evaluating yourself and your position and motives, and are never satisfied with where you are and what you've already achieved.

These are qualities of a true 'winner'

Good on ya mate. Good luck at Donny.

Phil, If you're not 'appy with 4th then just sit a race out and I'll relieve you of the position. I don't mind, really.

I can't recomend this DD stuff enough, I'm only getting half the experience and still loving every minute of it?

Next year, FOR SURE!

I have lost all interest in road riding, trackdays are now 'test days', I search under 'race' on ebay.......

I wonder will Petronas sponsor me next year?

Or maybe my local Shell garage, I've never bought more 98 RON in my life?

My RS has blown up and I'm thinking, mmmm I could buy a DD bike instead of pay for the repairs....

Bring on Donnington.....never been there!

Rant over!
