Just speaking about this on yesterdays ride out. Best bikes if you couldn't buy a Ducati were reckoned to be a GSXR 750, a Trumpet 675 for hooning or a Moto Guzzi Griso for a lazy jaunt out for a pub lunch.

On the other hand....

I rode a Multistrada for the first time yesterday. In the real world, on real roads, do you really need more than 85-100 bhp delivered in a grunty, torquey way? I rode the Melton-Colsterworth road yesterday on my own and didn't see many other bikes, but there are two fireblades and an R6 riding in a group that know the answer to that one

we have decided that if you need a second bike a KTM is the way to go....

Shame its but fug ugly and wont keep up with anyone that knows how to ride a decent machine huh..............LOL

IMHO riding bikes shouldn't be about keeping up with the jones's
it's about enjoying the open road/ track
one mans meat etc
i am now in the enviable position of having two bikes at pretty different ends of the ducati spectrum and have previously owned Il4's
every thing i have riden i have enjoyed in differnt ways
my st2 is a big old bike with 80 odd bhp i think it's still the most enjoyable bike i've owned
the 749s on the other hand is probably the most exciting to ride
my old fzr600 has got to be akin to my first real love
even had a dragstar 650 for a while not quite sure what i can say about that but it did look very shiny
but what bike have i had the most fun on not sure but it's either my old ap50 or mbx 125, dont know what bhp they had though??

some lead others follow...........that stubby exhaust is just a copy of the R6 one.............dont spose they wanted to do underseat exhausts like the zx10, r1, bmw......................only ten years too late!

Ps there was one at Silverstone yesterday, did look pretty!
