He did in fact get a £450 fine
If he had been a lorry driver or any other sort of proffesional driver who would have lost his job if banned would the magistrate have taken this into cosideration? probably not

No one likes a copper...
Not strictly true I have 2 friends that are cops and one who is an ex cop.
The above however doesn't mean that Inow have the respect for the uniform as I was brought up to have.
I am old enough to remember when the police were there to protect the ordinary citizen and not as they are now revenue collectors.

ive been pulled over by alot of cops.
and 95% of them were fine.
even had a laugh with them.

I beileve if your nice to them and look at them as a human not a "pig" like v-man says, then they will treat you exactly the same.
Ive been let off more than 5 times and am very lucky not to be banned.
But ive also met the copper that gives you **** and looks at you like your dirt.

and that copper will give all the other cops a bad name.I have alot of copper friends and there all sound as.

Whilst I have some concerns about the plice priorities these days this is about the organisation not individual officers.Having been a "Rocker during the 60s I sometimes got involved in a discourse with kent & sussex officers. I also have issues over the way the police were used during the miners strike so I can not be called their #1 fan.
Having said that in my opinion the posts from Vman 1000cc are way over the top. I really think that you have a problem there mate. if you want to go ahead and call me abusive names go ahead mate they won't be anything that I have not had to put up with during the course of my job

My 2 cents worth. I have several friends who are in the job, mostly in traffic and they are all good guys. There are also several club members who are in the job, at least one of whom is in traffic. The police are given laws they have to enforce, they may not agree with them but it's their job to enforce them. The only way we can affect the law is to vote for a different goverment, and we at least have that opportunity in this country-soon.
Saying all police are bent is a stupid as saying all hairdressers are homosexual, or that all bikers are criminal gang members-it's just one persons brain fart, smelly gas that will soon disperse.
