I saw Van Halen at Donington MOR 1983 i think with Dave lee Roth.During one song someone threw a bottle on stage .Roth stopped the band mid song and uttered"Man i saw who threw that and i,m going to come down there and fcuk your girlfriend"....at which the band cracked back into action.Very amusing.
First gig and best ;The Clash at Peterborough Wirrina '78 (Safe European Tour) Most disapointing;Cher at Wembly Arena 1990-ish,too many costume changes and refused to sing the old stuff. Loudest;David Lee Roth at the old Mallard Park Hotel Peterborough.
Originally posted by MARTIN H Yes I remember that it was 1984. AC/DC were the last band after Van Halen. I still have the programme for that somewhere.
I remember Gary Moore, then Ozzy teetering round on a wet stage because his roadies kept tipping buckets of water over him,Van Halen and then AC/DC,most of which i missed due to chasing a lady, unsuccessfully of course.
Went on a 400 Superdream pushing my mate faster on his C90 with my hand.He fell of later on going through a hedge and into a ditch where the C90 was left to die peacefully till this day
Best one was Radiohead on their Kid A tour in Newport in the big tent. I was about 6 from the front and sigur ros supported.
Worst one was Dream Theater at Norwich UEA. I went to see the support band (Porcupine Tree), but left a song into Dream theater's set. You should never let *ANYONE* finger tap a bass guitar. That's just wrong.
FIRST - Michael Jackson about 1991 ish at Roundhay park. The day I saw him it was his Birthday and part way through a track the crowd (100,000 plus) starting signing happy birthday, the stage dropped quiet ... sounds corny but the atmosphere was unbelievable.
BEST - Mmmm tough one. either first time I saw U2 in London about 2001 or Robby at Knebworth 2003.
