so, why is the board underlining and adding links to words like (hope this works or I'll look a fool [AGAIN!!])

You may well have a spyware program on your computer doing this (unless I'm the one that's the idiot and it's just me that doesn't see them...). Are you seeing these highlighted "keywords" on any other sites?

You could try downloading and running a spyware detection program like AdAware, http://www.pestscan.com/ or similar.

spyware doctor

or spybot search and destroy (a web search for these will get you the links)
