Nice one Paul, it's on my watch list right now, and I'll try sniping it later

I spotted these as well. Seems that not all of the parts from the kit are there going by what I saw on the Ferracci site. I think that some balancing work may also be required as these pistons are heavier than the standard ones. Have to say I am tempted but have no idea what to expect to pay to have the work done when supplying these parts. I hear parts and labour would be around £2300 at most specialists. Anyone know any different?

All depends on whether the crankcases have to be split to be machined out. On this occaision, I think that this would be the case.

I had the 853 kit fitted by Neil at Sigma. The pistons weighed the same as the originals so no need to balance the crank of machine out the cases.

If the kit was cheap enough then I would go for it. Thing is, once you have split the cases and balanced the crank. I would have thought that it would not be that far off of getting a 955 set of pistons in there.

Unless there is more work needed.

The details are...

It's Alan at AJ Racing who's selling it, he's got it in for another dealer, and he didn't explain why the gaskets were missing ( I didn't ask)

Reserve's at £450 (which it looks like it'll reach), and the cheapest I've found the full Ferracci kit is £750 (so that's £300 to spend on gaskets!!)

Labour is the big question, so I guess there's a need for a few phone calls to be made to our preferred builders. Or call Alan direct and get a quote.
