748s still worth a lot....
According to the latest issue of bike,

I quote,

new 749's are down to under 7k and decent used 748s still going for 6k i wonder why?

answer: the 748 is still beautiful and the 749 isn't:P

quote from Neil Murrays column in Bike magazine

Hmmm...... I think we're into "opinion" teritory here!

I reckon the 749 dark, like Scotty's, is almost as tasty as No44 covered in squirty cream and raspberry sauce!

Sorry, mind is wandering

Its only an opinion ....just like, whats the point in having the practice 750 model instead of a real 1000cc ? :P

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, 749/999 styling is a step forward, it is hard to follow in the footsteps of the 748/9**. They may look better but thats not the main thing, 749/999's perform better.

An Italian described the two bikes to me thus:-

The 916 is a race bike that they put on the road and the 999 is a road bike that tried to race
