Nordschleife
All,

Has anyone been to and around the nordschleife, for a jolly jaunt around the track, all 14.167 miles of it?

Looking at going later in Spring for a treat to myself, and was after any advice anyone can throw my way.

Cheers in advance

Jas

I went there last summer. Stayed for 3 days...Fantastic really enjoyed the experience. Advice well, until you get some kind of familiarity of the track, beancounter is correct, stay to the right. It's about £8.00 a lap but you can buy a 6 lap ticket at a discount. I stayed at a hotel in Ardenau which is about a 10" min ride from the start, but you can actually join the circuit at Ardenau. The town of Ardenau does have some night life bars etc....
If you need the name of the hotel just let me know, Eddy who owns the hotel was a great help. He rode round with us for a couple of laps showing us the correct lines. What a help that was.

Clint.

I've been twice now and it is a fantastic place but not one to spend days on end at - the roads around there are fantastic. A biking must but one of the most intimidating places that I have been to. As stated previously keep to the right and use your mirrors!!!!

been there twice, last time being two years ago. you will experience all kinds of other vehicles going round with you. DO NOT try and race a car, DO NOT try and race another bike, it takes many many trips to even come close to knowing and understanding the track. Friends and i watched a video of a guy wizzing past a BMW taxi ( it was being driven by the fastest woman to go round the circuit, and she works in a small resturant close by, she put the vid on for us)
she told us he died on the next lap. Boy did that make us go cold. he slid on oil from a car. the more you learn it the faster you go. We went round just for fun. great experience, the roads around the circuit are superb. we stayed in the Motorsport hotel very close by. have fun.
