Chain guide markings on an STŁ
Hi Folks,

Went to adjust the chain for the first time on my ST3 yesterday. The markings didn’t appear to match up on both sides of the swinging arm. Checked with a callipers and eventually settled for an equidistant setting from the spindle washers to the end of the arm, assuming that both arms are the same length! Anybody come across this before?

Thanks,
Mick

It's not unusual as they say Mick ... on the 916 family (single sided swing arm) the two wheels are rarely exactly in line either. Those marks are really only a guide, I've owned a straight piece of steel for many years as I've never trusted them on any of my bikes.

Cheers Henners,

the bike is in for its 10k service in a month. I will hold off and discuss with the mechanic. I had it out for a good blast this evening on dry roads and the handling was bang on. Talked my way out of getting a ticket too, so all in all a good night!

Mick
