what bhp?
what is the bhp figure quoted for the 998s?

I think my 748r is something like 103?

But aren't Ducati now also quoting BHP figures at the crank rather than at the rear wheel (as the Jap Co's. do) so you may want to keep that in mind.

That also explains why some of the power figures for this years models have suddenly been boosted?

would be interested to see a dyno comparing the two to see how different it is. don't suppose anyone has one?

so realistically the figures quoted for older bikes against say an R1 or gixer were less and now they are upping them to be comparable?

Well...thats the impression I'm under.

I'm sure I read sometime ago that Ducati were a little fed up of the competition quoting crank figs whilst they were giving rear wheel figs...so they have decided to play the game as well?

I could be wrong...but I'm sure I read that somewhere not too long ago.

I know my 916SP came with a dyno chart from the factory, which was a true rear wheel figure...but that was 1995!

Yup true...

Also Ducati are now quoting dry weight also, no fluids, fuel, oil, brake/clutch fluid... and possibly even fork/shock oil.
