Exhaust link pipe
Do the standard link pipes, collector have some form of restriction in them, sure Ive read a thread about this.If so is there a 45mm version available that is straight thru or does it not make any difference.

I believe there is something in there not sure what, i have my 50mm cans over the 45mm mid section soon to be replaced by a larger 45-50mm mid section that looks to have a lot bigger and smoother pipes on it.

The midpipe section of the exhaust system has a crossover where the exhaust from one cylinder assists the exhaust flow from the other cylinder. The design of an exhaust system is a complicated subject, but in short, the crossover section size, placement and even existance depends on the choices made by the exhaust system designer regarding shaping the torque and horsepower curves, as well as the result of exhaustive (pun) dyno work by the manufacturer.

Thanks Shazaam, the Termignoni systems dont appear to use this crossover design,I take it therfore that Ducati have concentrated more on a obtaining a good torque/power curve across the complete rev range, the crossover design would also appear to be more expensive to produce, than two seperate pipes.
