Personal Plates
So, any experience? Are personal plates a good investment these days? They don't seem to be getting any cheaper, and you are never going to get a snappy plate now they have stuffed the date in the middle.

Anyone bought/sold over a period and got a view?

Rgds, Rob

If your planing to put it on the bike once it's on there it can only ever be transfered on to another bike

Rob i dropped on mine about 15yrs ago i followed a car with it on and stopped the driver and asked him if he wanted to sell it ! he did and i gave him 800 squid for it !
i joined CNDA and every year they send you a valuation!
my plate is worth £10,000 but only to someone with my initials and who wants it!

so it's worthless realy if you get my drift!
ps buy one anyway as it does take the year off what you Ride/Drive ....mav

Got 2 PP's now.... one on the R and the other one has been on retention for about 3 years... Got fed up paying £80 every time i transfered it to another car... It still cost you £25 a year to keep the plate, Might be worth a few quid in about 50 years !!

Just bought S999 XTC for £250 inc transfer and it'll stay with the bike, I just wanted a plate with 999S in it, not bothered about the value. DUC 749R comes up at DVLA auction tomorrow, now that might be worth summit. about a month ago V5 RCV was still on DVLA site for about 700 noticed it had been bought since rumours of a road RCV started. Pick the right ones and they can be worth a bit.

Theres a few ?888 SPS plates on the DVLA site if your looking for one for your bike.
