Questions for the peeps with the (JHP) S4 challenge Monster nose fairing!
Is it a specific screen that fits this? Did JHP supply this?

Are you using the standard headlight mount or custome brackets?

Any pics?

Hi Tim, I still haven't fitted mine but JHP did supply the screen that it comes with. I did have to ask for it. Just ask Dave to sort you out.

You use a custome bracket that fits to the normal headlight mount. I was going to chase Dickie actually, he had some made up so I was going to ask him to get some more done from wherever that was done - using his current ones as a template.

What about your 916 nosecone? I thought you were ok on this front?

i used a couple of the brackets from the original challenge fairing. that i still need to get copied. so i could get a few run off as and when i get round to it. i just used 2 fixings and then put a bit of foam to stop the screen bending in at the top. sounds pants but it works ok. a bracket on the bottom of the fairing will do the job too. i'll take some piccies tomorrow to show you what i mean. the screen you need is one of the older type.

i think there may be a new points table too for those with older type screens as they mean you will get 0.01 bhp less than some other bikes.

I'm assuming my screen is the same as yours. Do you reckon you could have those brackets done in the next few weeks? Before the next round?

Cheers mate.

Thanks TP / Dickie - any pics you have would be great. Jon - FO!!

The 996 nose will probably be OK, I'm having some probs with the brackets which don't seem up to the job and need a few changes.

But picked up a spare challenge nose fairing from Barry (he's a top fella!) in case I need a replacement.

The 996 seat unit also looks like it'll have to go, the fitment was a bit Heath Robinson and I don't think it'll survive CC.

I've also got the S4 challenge seat unit - so this would match up with the S4 nose cone too - maybe a chance for a complete respray in fluorescent orange!!!! - any cheap painters in the SE??

In truth the 996 fairing parts were cheap (no-****!!) parts that I wacked on - but in order to look proper, I need some pukka parts, hence the Challenge gear.

I'm struggling to get anytime to practice, I'm hoping to get to Silverstone with the ESS though - 24th I think.

The Brands Indy evenings kick off at 5:30 and finish at 8 - so you've got time to nick off early from work and make it over - still no good?
