999R actual BHP
Do any of you know what the actual horsepower output of the latest 999R is ?

I'm guessing that Ducati quote 150 ... so you would see 138-140 on a dyno.

What do you lot reckon ????

I think youll find a lot of the 'increase' is down to several factors, not least of which, what name you call the power, and how and where its measured, as apposed to an actual increase in power!

My understanding is that Ducati used to quote at the wheel, but from 05 are quoting at the crank like everyone else. So the 150 quoted is a crank figure.

You can tie yerself in knots on this one.

Ducati have moved to at crank figures for 2005 so they are in line with everyone else.

Trying to compare different bikes on the dyno is fraught with problems, bad enough when using the same dyno, mission impossible when different dynos are used.

The 998/999r both used to be quoted as 139? at the wheel, Ducati now quote 150? at the crank for the 999r make of that what you will.

My 999r 04 made 142 at the crank at jhp, so the 150bhp quoted on the 05 must be at the crank.
I understand you take off around 7 - 8 bhp for the rear wheel figure.
