Circuits\' average \"fast\" times
Gentlemen,

Just for fun, I wanted to find out how slow I am compared to some of you (fast riders), so I was wondering if you could give me an idea of the average or top "fast times" for some of the most popular UK circuits. I will go first for the ones I remember, so it will be easy for you to embarass me...

Ciao

1998/99 CB500 lap times were as follows...

Mallory - 56.6 (before edwinas)
Snetterton - 1:22.8
Donington Nat - 1.24.3
Cadwell GP - 1.41.4 (before new chicane)
Oulton - 1.52 ish (before Hizzys)
Silvertone Int - 1.41.1 (before silly last chicane)
Brands GP - 1.44 (before sheene curve)
Thruxton - 1.31

That's the last time I rode on them circuits in anger - sorry!

Mario, what sort of people's times are you after?

The replies you're getting quoted are all quoting the times of people that race, or who are on lesser bikes than your 998 (sorry Dom). If you want club racers times that's fine, however, your post came across to me as if you wanted to know what sort of average times you might find in the fast group on a trackday.

I was on a track day at Brands recently on my monster. I was sliding around a little bit and have changed the tyres now but I was doing around 58's. I'm not really sure because I wasn't timing but I was slowly catching a guy on a Tuono and he was in the 58's.

Seeing as I had to take it easy in Clearways, Paddock Hill and Druids (nearly highsided here, went down the hill on the grass sitting on the tank after the rear came around!) I know there's plenty more to come

Jools,

You are right, I want to know what sort of average times I might find in the fast group on a trackday, but these replies are still providing me with a reference point, based on the bikes and rider skills.

By the way, I am really too slow...

Ciao

I disagree Mario, the times you've posted above are around what I would expect fast group non racers to be running.
And too slow for what?
