After having done about 100 miles now on the 998 Hybrid I had had enough of the dragging clutch that was making down changes a bit rough and was nigh on impossible to get into neutral with the motor running.
Easy Solution was to fit the JHP slipper clutch I had picked up 2nd hand.
The 998 clutch that I removed had very few signs of use, so I decided to fit its sintered plates into the JHP clutch.

I have ridden the bike and all appears to be OK, clutch pressure feels lighter maybe slightly weaker springs on the JHP unit.

What I would like to know is the end gap that JHP recommend. I can always try phoning later but thought I would try here first

Not Lazy just tied to the control room running two e-beam accelerators, took 5 seperate sessions to type the above post.

Cheers Keefer, I suppose the recess in the back of the pressure plate has something to do with it
My FBF one is 2mm when measured through the whole in the pressure plate.
But I would like to see what JHP recommend, just tried the link to the JH Performance website to get contact details but got a blank screen. Anyone have the phone number...JPM, Butch????/

I think the 4mm is probably a base setting, you can have less but then it would slip much quicker, or a bit more for the opposite. but as you have mentioned too much and it will drag

The number I have for JHP is 0247 6335300.

Got my clutch all out and dis-assembled ok - problem appears to be a fractured spider spring.

The friction plates are worn closer to the engine than the pressure plate so I'm hoping that a new spring and re-order of the plates may give the STM a little more life.

Thanks for the No. Dave, Spider springs don'y you just love them, you need to keep it greased Dave so you may have to sort yourself out a STM tool for servicing the clutch. Re stacking the plates in a different order may help, but if you can replace a thinner plain steel plate with a thicker one it should account for some of the wear.

Thanks Adam in that case I need to do a bit more packing, after assembly I measured it at 5.5mm so will see if there is the possibility of replacing a couple of 1.5mm plates with 2mm plates.
