Are these any good?

What is the picture like on them?

Can't afford a plasma

If your room is big enough to accomodate one of those monsters then you can probably stretch to a plasma!

Remember that the quality remains long after the price is forgotten.

Also bear in mind that plasma ones are only usually guaranteed for 10,000 hours which is about four years typical usage.

The rear projection ones that i have seen have been not very good to be fair. A CRT will still out perform any of the moderrn technologies but is a heck of a lot bigger!

They did a test on the Gadget Show a few weeks back and the CRT beat the lot in terms of picture quality.

I wouldn't be buying any tv bigger than 32" unless it was High Def compatable and since any domestic HD format has yet to be ratified...

Good point. Very few TV's are high def compatible at the moment.

RP? Eeeewwww. Never have liked them and doubt I ever will. Get the biggest CRT you can, still the best for PQ.
