model change?
just while i remember (i could have put this in another post)...i notice that a lot of articles or items for sale relating to a 900ss might say "...fits 91 - 97..." for instance.

was there a very brief update then for 1998? my bike was first registered in feb 1998, so therefore a 1997my, is that right? i presume the new shape 900ss came out later in 1998 and thats the reason things are specified up to 1997...but that is just guess work on my part! ;-)

The carbed SS bikes were technically from 91/92 - 97 worldwide and 91/92 - 98 in the US (the 900FE and 900CR for the US market were model year 1998).

98 was also the year of the newer FI SS bikes. Because of the latter, most refer to the SS bikes as being from 92-97. But there are some carbed 98 bikes worldwide.

As for differences in model years, see...

thanks Edwyun.

as mine is registered so early on in the year, its probably safe to say that it is a 1997my bike...which would make sense as i am in the UK too.
