Headlamp aim
Need to adjust my headlamp aim after having failed my MOT (along with getting a normal square number plate made) and wondered whether anyone knows the size of the alan key need?

Not near my bike else I'd sort it, and need to buy one as I've got the retest Saturday.

Any help appreciated...

Allen keys usually come in sets anyway, it's quite rare to find individual ones for sale.

Well I've just been poking them down that bloody hole, and I never can locate it! Always end up taking the nose-cone off!

Think it's 5mm. Possibly 4, though. Someone will know for sure.

Whichever one it is, it's in the toolkit!!!!!

How unusual, a piece of a Ducati toolkit that actually does something?

nice of the MOT people to take the 40 seconds it takes to set it for you.
how unhelpful is that

In fairness to them I declined as I'd already failed on the plate.

It was only when I got home that I realised the adjuster was an alan key and not a screw head, and my socket set was not going to do the trick...

Never thought of looking in the toolkit, cheers Bostram998.

Bet the alan key is made out of chocolate or missing...!

Is there a simple measure for setting the aim?

Something like

1m high at 3m from the headlamp

any ideas.

I'm going to use the MOT testers measurement board.

Once I've done that I should be able to give you a set height at a set distance...

Will post it on this thread (assuming I remember of course) once sorted out.

Mine's imperial - 3/16 !!!

Aim should be 90% of lamp height at 10 metres.
