Igniters /CDI
Just a quick question. Am I right in thinking the 2 valve pre injection Igniters BB1105 and BB1132 are DC.
I've checked the wiring diagram and cant see a feed from the alternator, just the pickups so just for reference they are DC not AC, or is there an AC feed on one of the pickups. Thanks for any info.

Nothing is AC on a vehicle. The alternator output is rectified to DC.

Now being a sports therapist I'm no expert mechanically or electronically but I'm pretty sure there are AC and DC fed CDI used on bikes. The AC boxes having a built in rectifier converting to DC hence my original question.
I have a new Haynes manual but the wiring diagram doesn't much resemble the loom I have. I'm building an air cooled 2 valve from bits I've collected, not looking too clever at the moment.
So they are DC boxes running on the rectified circuit?? Thanks

On the igniters you have two connectors, one is a 3 pin and the other a 2 pin

The wires to the 3 pin are two inputs which are +12V and Ground/Earth and the pin is the connection to the HT coil.

So what you have is the feed for the electronic circuit that controls the Electronic switch that controls the coil ON/OFF

The other 2 pin connector delivers the pulse from the pickup that triggers the electronic switch
