rockers
Result, after contacting Ducati UK they have rung my local dealer and have told them to do the rockers for 1/2 price, thus saving me a small fortune.A goodwill gesture on their part, but I,m still thinking that inferiour materials are used to make them.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the testastretta engines aren't displaying the rocker problems that the earlier motors had.

Can someone confirm this?

Oil delivery systems changed in the Testa's the overcome this problem.

But I guess it's a bit early to tell yet.

Problem arose around '96 when the plating started to be outsourced instead of managed inhouse (Texas Pacific takeover.....). It's persisted until the re-design of the engine into the Testastretta.

MarioP has had a rocker snap in a Testa engine. But that's a non standard build with special parts, and is being examined and repaired by Ducati Special Projects, so is probably not indicative of a general rocker problem.

If I remember correctly, Ducati said that all MY01 models and onwards should have new rocker parts. Saying that, mines an MY01 model and still exibited rocker failings. I reckon all new engines were built with new rocker parts but stock engines would still have gone into MY01 and above models from the shelf with old rocker parts.

I have not heard of anyone with a testastretta bike with Rocker probs. Anyone else confirm?

There have been something like 17 different part numbers for the rockers over the years....
