differences ?
Ok i have been offered a 2003 749s mono or a 2004 749 mono, both bikes are the same price....the older bike has adjustable footpegs, nitrided front forks, aluminium rear subframe. Are the engines any different ? Dealer tells me that for 2004 the engine is the same as the 2003 's' ,is this correct? The later bike has termi's......both have done 3000 mls...really confused...

Your dealer is correct, the '04 749 got the '03 749S motor. The '04 'S' was upgraded with another 7bhp.The 'S' varients also have upgraded suspension and adjustable steering angle.

i thought base 749 models were the same 03 to 04, maybe a few small cosmetic changes, Dseered had an issue with this which is still unresolved. 749 S models do change from 03 / 04, 7 more hp

catalogues are on the ducati website

Ok..thanks guys.I have checked out the specs on both, understand it a little better now ! Just have to make a decision. Does anyone have an opinion on what they would do ? Newer bike or better spec ?
