just a shot in the dark, but can anyone help.
whilst the bike is off the road, and I only have the ZT estate to scoot about in, I am in search for a more sporty car again.
Having had quite a few years in porker ownership I am looking to get another one.
I'm curently in search for a genuine unmolested 924 CARRERA GTS , must be in guards red.

If anyone has any info on a location of one , or links, please let me know.
Also if anyone here knows the proper technical spec of the GTS.

thanks
robin

I used to have a 924 turbo, what a car! The most fun you could have out of bed back in those days. The Carrera gts though? I thought they were all show and no GO!!

245bhp , 6 sec , 155mph from a 2litre car in 1982 was pretty respectable.
will still leave a lot of motors behind now.

the 924 may have had audi connections, but the carrera had to earn its name, unlike other 924's.

They had a vw van engine but it was what porsche did to it that made it special. The turbo had performance 2nd only to the lotus esprit turbo at the time. I'm sure the Carrera was fast but I do not recall how it would compare to the turbo? It had sporty bodywork though more like a 944. You could get them sideways around any bend/roundabout for me the turbo was the ultimate drift car......Happy days.

It makes me smile when the"cognoscenti" of cars start giving the 924 stick as it has an Audi / VW derived engine.
Where do they think the 911 engine came from.......does the Beetle ring a bell?

Red....have you tried contacting TIPEC ( The Independant Porsche Owners Club ) - they started out as the 924 club & still have a large number of members who run them, so someone may bealble to assist in locating one.
More approacheable than the Porsche Club GB too!

rushjob, I was a member of the PCGB for until 2003 , really to stuck up for me thought, had to escape to the real world of porsche ownership.

So far I had a 944lux, 944turbo SE , 944S2 , 968 SPORT, and my most recent 911 (964) carrera 4 which was a stonking motor.
so Need something different now.

cheers
robin
