What a \"novel\" Idea! (not bike related)
What an excellent website!
www.bookcrossing.com

We found a book with a label on that said "I'm not lost, I'm free".
We took it home and went to the address on the label on the inside. It turns out that there are Thousands of books that are "roaming" wild in our cities! You can track them and hunt them down or release your own into the wild and leave clues for people to find them! There are even "extreme" releases, dangling from trees and bridges!
My kids are hooked! You buy the labels (that's how the voluntary site keeps going) or print your own.
We are releasing two tomorrow!
What are clever idea to get people reading!

Yeah, I've heard about it on the radio. Sounded like a great idea when travelling - no need to cart around the number of books I can get through.

I bring books that I've finished into work and leave them in the shelf for people to help themselves. Trouble is, if i find a book i like then i tend to keep it and read it over and over again so its only the rubbish ones that i bring in!

They do a similar thing in my local pub. People take in books they've read and just leave them on a table for other people to take away. There's a charity collection bottle on the table that you can stick 50 pence in (if you choose to do so - it's not compulsory) each time you take a book and you just take it back to the pub when you've finished and recycle it again.

Better than the library because the library doesn't serve Guiness

I've heard about it, but yet to see a random book hanging around a park bench, just the tramps.
