Anyone know about parking fines
On Saturday got stung for £75 fine for parking my monster on what looked like council property but turned out to be private.

They watched on cctv as me and my mate pulled up then waited for us to leave then clamp us. There was a sign very high in the air above 9ft i would say. When we came out another bike had came and been clamped to.

If u werent looking for there was no chance u would see the sign is there legalities for height of signs?

Thanks in advance

No idea about height etc, but as long as a sign is displayed on each car park that uses clamps then you might be out of luck. Might be worth a google, I had a few issues with work here where they were going to clamp people (even though they don't provide enough parking spaces) and there are a few interesting articles on the web as to the law

Yeah i thought as much, was like a so say legit firm with marked up van and everything, not like skinheads in an old transit atleast.

But still very underhanded to say the least esp with the hiegt of the sign, what ever happened to a warning first? as they watched us pull up on cctv

A bit after the fact, but it may be worth complaining strongly to the council(or whoever has licenced them ),you probably wont get anywhere but if enough complaints are received they might have the licence suspended.
I'm pretty sure you cant just put up a sign and start a business fleecing people. At the very least the council should give them grief about their signage.

I suppose you can check out they are licensed, laws did come into place this year for clampers etc and there are guidelines etc, if they've not got a license then you have a case.

All clampers now have to be licensed, if they're not, they can't clamp or charge a release fee.

Brief overview here
