Ducati 1 squirrel 0
Out for a blast this afternoon along the A6 heading in to Matlock. Over took a car and dropped in to a left corner doing about 55, spotted a squirrel dart across the road from the right. Looked like we were on a collision course and decided it was best to keep my line and hope for the best.

Quick “bump” as it went under the front wheel. The bike kept it’s line and all was ok, well for me it was, not so good for the squirrel.

Must admit shook me up and I had to have a strong bottle of water in Matlock to calm down.

Hows this then.

Was doing about 140 odd on a friend's CBR 600 with him following me on my Blackbird. A pheasant flew out from the hedge right in front of me and - smack - into the front of the bike. The impact was so hard I felt the bike physically slow down!

Anyway there was absolutely nothing left of the headlamp, the fairing was pretty smashed and it came into the fairing so far I could see bits of it under the clocks, it had come back as far as the forks.

Needless to say my friend was a but un-chuffed.

check this out from a blast in 2004!!!
www.khushy.com/phes.htm

Out with the guys from Nth Bucks Ducati - a Phesant hit the faring of the leader (Andy in the pic) then his chest and landed in the dashboard - we came to an abrupt halt and had a good giggle.

Needless to say that the Phesant didnt look very happy!!!!

I was coming down from Andorra towards Barcelona - leading 3 other riders, in the dark - when we hit an already deceased Labrador that was lying in the road halfway round a corner.

We all suffered a reasonable wobble, went off line and filled our underwear (I felt bones breaking as I went over it) but were just grateful that someone got there first and it wasn't upright when we hit it - poor thing...

I just remembered a squirrel incident on a mountain bike !
Rather like carbon's - a sudden flash from the side towards the front wheel - no time to do anything
Then there was this god-awful screeching from the front wheel, so I looked down ... and the squirrel was holding onto the spokes going round with the wheel
I slowed down - as you do when this happens - and he jumped out and continued across the road
Sue riding behind missed it all and I still dont think she believes me !
