Well gang me and her indoors headed off on our Euro tour a week last Friday! We left the Midlands at 8pm and were planning to pop in CK-AK's for a brew but alas traffic on M1/25 delayed the whistle stop. So after a bit of a chat with CK on the "Dog and bone" en route, we arrived for our midnight crossing from Dover to Dunkirk arrival time was 3am France time and we disembarked and decided to head to the hotel I use for (Nurburgring) for breaky

So 220 miles from home to Dover and 325 the other side of the water saw us at Thomas's for a 8.30 rendevouse and a nice continental breaky on a misty morning
We said our goodbyes and did some twisties before getting on the Autobahn and setting the cruise control on mavs Eurotrotter to 125mph and relaxed while her indoors made the coffee !
By 6pm we had done most of the boaring stuff and had pulled into Saltzburg in Austria booked in a nice hotel by the river and had a romantic meal out side the chip shop

(Hey dont you go thinking i'm going all soft in my old age

)
Seriously, a top meal in a nice restaraunt and a walk in the night air ! perfect after a days driving around 900miles day1
Well Sunday we moved on and decided to drive the mountain roads through Austria and head off down to Lake Como ! Well without boring you to death with details - the roads and scenery were awsome

We pulled up at the side of Lake Como and tucked in to some snap! At 7.30pm I decided to head down to Genova (Italy) Via monza Milano so we hit the road and the next time I looked we had pulled into Genova

Not the place we wanted to be at 10 0'clock at night the Bronx or what, so we grabbed a piza (real nice) and decided we would move on a bit further. So I said to the missus shut your eyes and I'll find us a nice place to stop !

bloody Autostradas are great at that time of night

I woke the missus and we booked in a lovely Hotel at Midnight (mav on a Mission )

in Monaco

Cant be arsed working all the miles out now
Next morning saw us cruise the coast through Monaco, Frejuis (top Biking road) etc and then a 4pm set off to Andorra !arrival time 7pm and an early beer and nose bag.
A quick call next morning to BDG for some advice (Cheers Sean) we spent a few hours doing the passes and some provisions and headed back through the Massif and up to Orange before bedding down just off the infamous N75 route napolen
Next day we headed upwards and onwards over the Rhone Alps (France) and into Valdesere ski resort for a nice expensive coffee at 8 euros

We eventually ended up at Lake Magiorie in Switzerland where we stayed for two nights and chilled out !
Friday saw us head back via Luxembourg and an early tea in Lille b4 catching the boat home !
Total miles door to door was 4235 and the weather was awesome, til we hit France on the last leg!
So anyway, next year I got all the best biking roads mapped - so who's up for it ?
Cheers Mav
P.S. anyone need a driver over the winter? mail me !
