BIG THANX to JPM and Lily
Did a track day at Oulton Park yesterday, what can I say? Superb circuit, fabulous facilities, great weather and most of all wonderful company!

Jon and Lily hosted me on Tuesday night, wined and dined me and did everything they could to make me feel at home. Marvellous hosts and a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Come the day we all shared a garage and Jon's mate Andy joined us on a 749R and we had a blast. Never even spectated there before let alone ride it, and first few sessions I felt like a mobile chicane, but soon learned the basics of the place and could up the speed a bit, but I reckon it's one of those tracks that take a while to dial in the different lines and overtaking places.

My best time was in the low 1.50's - however that was only achieved by taking a new line through Hizzy's chicane - missed it out entirely! Must tell JR!

Had hoped to get under 2 mins using all of the circuit, but it was not to be, maybe next time cos you bet I'm going back.

Another thing that was very apparant was the extra grunt of the 999R over my little ol' 996. JPM could simply use his power in a lot of places to clear traffic whilst I had to do it on the brakes or by taking a really tight line and getting on the gas perilously quickly.

Maybe I should by the 998RS FO2 I was offered...................

Anyway, thanks again guys, it was great day, and one we should repeat very very soon. Cadwell anyone?

John, anytime mate! Was a great evening and day, although I am paying for it now, feel quite achy, glad you enjoyed yourself, I have to admit to taking the new line through Hizzy's too! (Just the once though )

As soon as the 2006 dates come about I'll start to organise a DSC date for next year, hopefully we'll have dates for the DD boys and the possibility of a DD round at Oulton we could sort a TD out just before to give these guys a practise.

Hopefully see you soon
