Scrutineering question
My ss is fully faired so is it likely I will need to take fairings off to be scrutineered to check lockwire etc?

No they want to see it ready to race, they will see where they need to.

If the scrutineer can't see or feel the lockwire he may ask you to remove parts of the fairing

Ok Kev thanks. I wasn't sure if you could start taking fairings off in the scruit bay just incase there was a queue waiting.

If people have to wait because the scruinteer asks you to do this it's just tough. What they say goes.

It happened to a guy with an RSV at Snetterton, I wasn't scrutineering that day but the guy had a moan to me about the scrutineer (Bernie) delaying him as he went to get some tools to remove the left fairing panel.
Low and behold the cover with 3 bolts that contained the oil filter didn't have even one of the 3 bolts lockwired.

Matt Lawson's Class A bike was picked up on lock wiring at Donington
He now has one of my blanking plugs fitted (see photo)

And be careful if you ride your bike to be checked as he won't be happy if he burns his hand on a hot exhaust while feeling around.
