New frame for SuperLight
After a 2 month wait my replacement frame has turned up at Pro-twins.

The original '95 frame developed a crack on the top tube where the tank mounting bracket is welded on. Seems to be one of the particular weak points.

Despite many peoples issues with Ducatis you have to agree that getting a free new frame on a 10 year old bike is pretty good going... (Compare it to Suzuki and the TL-S for instance..)

Now I just have to find time to strip the bike down and fit the bits back on again.

Got to agree I was well impressed when I had a new frame from them earlier this year. I had got a chap lined up to weld it. But after posting on this, site I had some really good replies suggesting I followed it up with Ducati UK. Thanks again guys.
The actual strip and rebuild was pritty simple and good fun, so good luck.
Cheers Allan R

nice one Darren. Why not get it nicely powder-coated while it is out and cheap to do?

-- Was it close to the homologation plate ???
If so, I don't (even at time ...) understand why this plate, fixed with 2 rivets
was located so close to the steering column ???
---> Heresy !!!!!!!!!

Chi : I'm looking at getting it done in satin black in homage to your one.

Phil : My SL doesn't have a riveted on plate. The crack started from a weld holding the fuel tank mounting bracket to the top rail.
