2005 749r MOTOR in a 749s
Hi, I have a 2003 749 S and I have a chance at buying a 749R motor from a 2005 bike VERY cheap and I was wondering 1st IS IT POSSIBLE to do a straight swop or is there too much difference between the 2 bikes ?
Thanks

I would have thought the motor would drop straight in,....however,the R has a deep sump,so a new exhaust would be required. Then there is the issue with the cpu.Whether an S cpu would work with an R engine,I dont know.I would guess to get the best out of the motor you would need the R cpu.If that has been 'coded' with the origional bikes keys, ignition, clocks, etc, you would need those as well.
