Christmas is coming
Not being nosey or showing off, just wondered how peeps spend time over the festive period
I know that for a lot of people its just another work day, and i do know how that feels, well, every other year anyway.
I personally am on call every other year, have been for the last 15 years so i make the effort to do something different on my year off. Since becoming a dad (nine years now ) i try to make them special, such as lapland to see santa ( for Pheobe you understand ) a cottage on the west coast of scotland and Switzerland in the mountains, this year we're spending christmas and the new year in New York .
The other benefit in doing this is not having to spend it with family :P:P

For me Christmas is all about the magic of staying up til 2a.m. wrapping presents on Christmas eve and then being woken up by the kids at 6a.m.

Seeing their faces when we all go into the living room and see Father Christmas's footprint in the fireplace, and hearing their squeals of delight when they see the presents.

It's also probably the one day in the year when I truly '' switch off '' from work etc.

Phil

I agree with Dseered..........Christmas...what a load of nonsense...and I thought it was a religious festival...well thats what it started out as. Its just turned into a mass consumer exercise. I had to laugh at the news after the last Xmas. They said interest rates might have to go down as people hadn't spent enough at Xmas time. What a load of shite!!!!!!!!

It's just a rare chance for a week off work for me, dont like what christmas has turned out to be...

Last year was most enjoyable thanks to the kindest of invitations from a member of this club. Parked up outside their home and there the car stayed for the weekend. Booze of all description on 24th, then up crimbo morning for a blast on a bike provided by my host (never ridden a vfr4 before then) and back for big roast dinner, scaletrix championship, sweeties, more wine, put the world to rights.......

This year no plans yet for my week orf but must come up with an excuse to avoid the demon nephews!

Won't be doing too much this year, but like someone else has already said, it's all about the kids!!!!

Will be taking my daughter out for a Christmas ride on her pony, then hopefully go for a RIDE on my steed!!!
