PC tip - Printer not printing a colour.
This infurated me for ages.

My last printer used to allow me to flush / recover individual colors on the colour cartridge however, after it died we moved to a Lexmark all-in-one printer, scanner.

If one colour goes off from lack of use - you have to keep printing (and wasting) ALL of the colours, just to get the one thats stopped working again.

So, I had a brainstorm last night when the Blue stopped working - simply draw and fill a square in deep blue (I used MS Powerpoint) - or whatever colour ISNT working.

I filled half a sheet of A4 with the box - and then printed it out a few times on 'better' quality - RESULT!!!!

Within two prints the blue was working properly again.

Cheers - Frank

Wish I had shares in the cartridge companies

Thing on the TV last week saying ink jet ink is the fifth most expensive liquid in the world. Oh and they ran a few tests and proved that the printer manufacturers own inks give the best colours and light fastness but were far more expensive than the pattern ones.

Printer ink is one of the most valuable liquid commodities in the world right now. It is so valuable to the profit line that printer manufacturers pay the one big PC shop in the UK to sell its new models, - yes pay, they do not buy stock to make margin on they make a manufacturer pay them money for putting the printer in their shop. Most manufacturers are selling printers at less that cost for your ink business. There are actually very few printer manufacturers in the world right now as most of the stuff comes out of 3 or 4 companies and is made under license.

I'm very grateful to inkjet ink. As a Hewlett-Packard employee it helps feed my Ducati habit.
