what PC security do you use ?
Hi,

Have an issue with PC security at the moment. Have the MS spyware installed and all is OK.

But, I would like a decent antivirus program. PC world have this for £25 ... any good ?

SYMANTEC - INTERNET SECURITY '06 + GO BAC (PC SOFTWARE)

The AV will be as good as any, might be a bit higher CPU usage than some from memory, I wouldn't bother with the go back facility though I've had to rebuild several machines with this installed after it went wrong and screwed the OS to the point where there was no OS.

I use Symantec - it is a good option at £25 a pop. I also wouldn't bother with 'Go Back' though.

Yeah but Norton's AV not spyware?

Someone will come along and say Grisoft etc being free AV, but there slow at updates unlike the likes of the big companies, Symantec, McAfee, F-Secure, Trend etc etc

NAV corporate and Webroot spyware, no problems since we started to use these two but we have quarantined a bunch of nastys. Got to keep them bang up to date

AVG anti-virus and Sygate firewall, cant get a better combination in my opinion after trying almost all of them. Both programs do their job and dont flood you with messages, run nicely in the background.

Zonealarm free edition
AVG antivirus free edition
Lavasoft Ad Aware
Webroot Spy Sweeper

Spy Sweeper I have found to be excellent. Previously only had the first 3 on and in 10 years never picked up anything nasty other than that was downloaded by someone else using my pc !!
