slipper clutch - ball and ramp type
so ive got me a slipper clutch!!!!

but i dont know much about it, long story really about how i came about it but needless to say, i dont know how to tell how worn / good it is, what should i look for ??

i can see the plates are a bit worn, so il need new ones if its going to be worth fitting the thing on, jsut looking for some pointers as to how i can tell if its all in a serviceable condition.

i can post some pics if its useful but what would we need to be looking at?

thanks

Not much to them really just the basket sides were the plates smash in to it and get toothed badly. make sure all the balls are there and the ramps they run in are smooth.

Is the outer basket for a slipper clutch the same outer basket as a standard clutch ?

Usual things check basket, and check the ramps as they can wear if not greased etc

That should be fine just don't over do it with the grease, just a small blob to keep your balls in place

You need some high temp stuff as it gets mighty hot inside a clutch assembly, someone did say in a thread a while ago what grease they use and I went and bought a tube, it's not cheap something like £25 for 100g but it doesn't melt
