996 forks
There is a 996 close to me that I might go and look at,it has gold coloured front forks ( ebay item 4611519157 ) sorry don't know how to do that link thingy! Didn't think these were standard on this model ? can someone confirm this please.

Yes they are Titaniun Nitride forks.

as far as im aware they are NOT the forks that the bike left the showroom with when new, nitrade forks are fitted post about 2001 on some models for example the 996s, for sure there must be a reason for a change of forks even if its just owner preferance / upgrade. the tops are also gold and looks like he has put stickers on them to make them appear to the unknowledgeable to be ohlins, when they are showas items from what i can see.

if ytour looking at this bike checak the head stock/ yokes for damage to the lockstops, will give u some idea

TP the one he is looking at is a gold frame model v reg, i dont think the ti ni forks were fitted to these year bikes
