Are MCN classifieds an effective medium for selling a bike these days?

I want to sell one of my bikes - I thought about EBay but, many bikes don't actually seem to get sold on their if they have a realistic reserve on them and I am put off by the high fees on "high value" items like a bike so, rather than go that route I'm thinkng of selling by MCN classifieds. Are they still an effective medium these days when compared to MCN.

i put mine on here for a couple of weeks.
Then I put it on visordown and it sold within a week.

Find a friendly bike dealer who will sell it for you on a commission basis. OK, you have to pay some of the money to the dealer, but, the price it sells for will be more than you can get privately so you will still get a good return.

Advantage is that you don't get numpties, tyre kickers and potential thieves coming around your house.
