Paint again
Hi guys and ladys, newbie here so be gentle, just bought my 1st ducati (92 900 superlight) and so far loving it

Just a quick quest regarding paint, as above its a 92 superlight in red, just not sure on the correct paint color the guy i bought it off says it could be rosso red does this sound right.

Any help appreciated.

Regards Phil.

Yep rosso red sounds right to me, I was shown some when I was trying to match my 'anniversary red' ST2 and the paint codes showed it as 92 onwards. Anniversary red is too orange, rosso is a redder red - if that makes sense.

The only way you'll get a good match though is to take it to a professional, years of exposure to sunlight, polish and dirt will have changed the original colour

Welcome on board Phil - Great choice of bike!

I was worried about colour matching too for my 93 900ss - when I bought a rear seat cover from Ducati Leeds. Turns out that with a bit of spit and polish my bike looks just as good as the seat cover.

Enjoy the website, there is loads of resources here - including an SL register to sign up to.

Regards - Frank
