Can anyone tell me if it is posible to replace the cat converter (S4R) with a straight through pipe and what performance gains, if any, would there be.

Stuart at Spareshack does them.

Ducati Performance/Termignoni do them.
Best looking system I've seen and heard (!) is made by Arrow.Lovely!
Here it is with carbon cans.(Ti also available.)
