Stainless steel quality for headers is it good??
The header pipe and pipe Dp de-cat pipe on my S4r has taken on a horrible brown finish ive never seen before, this is only after a total of 2700 miles and the de-cat pipe hasnt been on for all that time.

Guess it never happened on 748 or i never noticed it cause faring hid it. Exhaust on h o n d a never looked like this after many more miles.

Is this a sign of poor quality almost seems to be rusting when i wiped it down brown powder on cloth.

See pic

Hmm,to keep the pipes shiney, you have to polish them up once in a while.Dont confuse stainless with chrome.
Looks like normal everyday corrosion to me.(Damn those salty roads!)
I bet your 748 pipes were like that under the fairing.
